Boston, MA -- From now until March 27th, 2022, Ujima voting members have the opportunity to review a proposed investment in Comfort Kitchen.
Comfort Kitchen, a cafe by day and a restaurant by night, is being considered for a $200,000 investment from the Ujima Fund over four years, which will be divided into two components. The first $100,000 will be allocated as a term loan, carrying a fixed interest rate of 4%. The remaining $100,000 will be made available as a line of credit, carrying a fixed interest rate of 5%.
Comfort Kitchen -- comprised of managing partner Biplaw Rai, chef Kwasi Kwaa, Nyacko Pearl Perry, Shelley Nason, Kyisha Davenport, and Rita Ferreira -- recently opened their first location in Upham's Corner. Admitted into the Good Business Alliance this January, Comfort Kitchen’s mission is to celebrate the flavors and ingredients of the African diaspora, Asia, and the local food community.
