Boston Ujima Project Inc. is excited to welcome 2 Birds No Stones to the Ujima Good Business Alliance (UGBA). Founded by Boston native Maria McKnight in 2018, 2 Birds No Stones Sensory provides holistic play services to foster healing, creativity, and connection in underserved communities. Maria combines art and nature in her work, creating custom resin pieces and sensory play experiences for all ages. Her installations, like Gratitude Trees and fairy gardens, transform green spaces into calming environments for families to gather and heal. Inspired by her child’s journey with anxiety, Maria works to promote wellness and community connection.
In December 2024, our Community Standards Committee joyously extended an invitation to 2 Birds No Stones to join the UGBA, which they graciously accepted. The Community Standards Committee was excited by their outstanding good business practices, including:
Civic Engagement: As a founder and sole proprietor of 2 Birds No Stones, Maria McKnight actively engages in civic initiatives by volunteering with non-profit organizations, participating in community events, and mentoring young people as they build their futures.
Product or Service Mission: 2 Birds No Stones Sensory seeks to provide innovative sensory tools and programs to help individuals manage anxiety and stress while fostering creativity and curiosity. The business plans to build partnerships with institutions like the Museum of Science, Boston Children's Museum, NOVA, and NASA to expand its STEM-based art and sensory healing program, "Boston Blackstronauts." In five years, they aim to develop and distribute interactive sensory toys and products through major retailers. Within ten years, their goal is to establish franchise-level operations to make their resources widely accessible.
Consumer Feedback Channels: 2 Birds No Stones collects customer feedback by requesting written reviews from attendees after each event, often in the form of references.
