February 1st, 2023 -- Recently, Cupcake Therapy was invited to join the Ujima Good Business Alliance, which consists of an interview process that verifies that local organizations are operationalizing social justice through our minimum 36 Good Business Standards.
Cupcake Therapy was founded by a foodie with a lot of allergies. They are a tree nut-free and peanut-free cupcakery that bakes made-to-order cupcakes, and bake with premium ingredients, organic when possible, and many of their cupcakes can be made dairy-free/vegan. They use oat milk in their recipes, which is dairy-free, soy-free, and nut-free. Their goal: to make the best-tasting desserts that almost anyone can enjoy, regardless of dietary restrictions.
We’re excited to welcome Cupcake Therapy to the Alliance, and share pride in their outstanding business practices. Here are a few:
They pay at minimum a living wage to all employees and independent contractors
They are committed to hiring at least one student from Madison Park Vocational High School's Culinary Arts Program in Spring 2023
They have eliminated the use of plastic containers and are committed to recycling and composting whenever possible.
Join us in welcoming Cupcake Therapy to the Ujima Good Business Alliance! Look out for more information in our next Ujima Fund Investor Update.
